The Broncos became the latest team to deny having interest in trading for Darrelle Revis, leaving the Jets with no obvious direction to turn.
If the Broncos were going to be a strong suitor, signing Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie last week probably didn't help. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers seemed like the most likely landing spot for Revis at one point, but the franchise has reportedly grown impatient with the Jets.
Should discussions break down with the Bucs, it’s unclear what the Jets would do next. The team has already paid Revis’ $1 million roster bonus, so perhaps a new contract is in the works. If the Jets are going to trade Revis, they will need to make a decision by June 1 or be on the hook for a $5 million cap hit in 2013, and a $9 million cap hit in 2014.
