NFL free agent tracker: E.J. Biggers signs with Redskins

Washington added to the depth in its secondary by signing corner E.J. BIggers.

The Washington Redskins have agreed to terms with cornerback E.J. Biggers, according to Pro Football Talk. The details of the deal have yet to be announced.

Biggers is a former seventh-round pick who spent his first four seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers where he played in 45 games over the last three years.

In 2012, Biggers finally became a regular, starting in 12 of the 13 games in which he was active under head coach Greg Schiano. In those contests, Biggers racked up 51 tackles, a sack, an interception and two forced fumbles.

Only 25 years old, Biggers adds to a Redskins secondary that is in need of some retooling after they let DeAngelo Hall walk. Currently, Washington's starting corners are Cedric Griffin and Josh Wilson.

There have also been rumors that Washington would like to add Antoine Winfield to the defensive backfield as a starting nickelback. With the release of Hall, the Redskins have the cap space should they come to an agreement with Winfield.
