Adam Jones agrees to 3-year deal with Bengals

Jones played in all 16 games for the Bengals in 2012 and started in five.

Cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones announced he's reached a three-year deal to re-sign with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Jones, 29, is best remembered for his off-the-field troubles that led to a suspension for the entire 2007 NFL season and a four-game suspension during the 2008 season, but he has quietly turned into a reliable cornerback for the Bengals. In 2012, many considered Jones to be the best cornerback on the team and he earned a starting spot in five games while also returning to his role as a punt returner.

A first-round pick in the 2005 NFL Draft of the Tennessee Titans with the sixth overall selection, he played just two seasons with the Titans before being traded to the Dallas Cowboys where he played just one season. Jones was signed by the Bengals in May 2010.

The Bengals finished the 2012 season with a 10-6 record and the NFL’s sixth-fewest yards allowed on defense. The secondary allowed just 16 passing touchdowns, the fourth-fewest in the league.
