Cardinals sign Frostee Rucker, according to report

Frostee Rucker will sign with the Arizona Cardinals, according to reports, providing a pass-rushing and run-defending upgrade for defensive coordinator Todd Bowles’ 4-3 defense.

Frostee Rucker has found a new home with the Arizona Cardinals, according to Mike Jurecki of XTRA 910. Rucker was released by the Cleveland Browns in February, perhaps in part due to his poor fit in new head coach Rob Chudzinki's 3-4 defense. He shouldn't have any such trouble in Arizona. New defensive coordinator Todd Bowles has spent much of his career coaching a 4-3 defense.

Rucker was a big free agent signing for the Browns before the start of the 2012 season. He totaled 48 tackles and four sacks in his lone season with Cleveland, before being released with four years left on his contract. Terms of Rucker's deal with the Cardinals have yet to be revealed.

Rucker is considered a strong pass rusher and run defender. The Cardinals gave up 4.3 yards per carry last season, and ranked 28th in the NFL by giving up 137 rushing yards per game. Though they ranked fifth against the pass, they were just outside of the top 10 with 38 sacks on the season.
