A few more big names were snatched up this week in NFL free agency, as the marketplace continues to dwindle.
NFL free agent tracker 2013: Ed Reed becomes a Texan
The NFL is a place of changing names and faces, highlighted this week by Ed Reed moving to Houston.
Ed Reed signed with the Houston Texans, inking a three-year deal to jump from the Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens. Reed replaced Glover Quin, who earlier signed with the Detroit Lions.
Punter Shane Lechler also came to an agreement with the Texans. Lechler, one of the most underrated players in the game, is a true weapon with the way he can change field position. These two signings should really help Houston in its quest for a Super Bowl bid.
Staying in the AFC, the Cincinnati Bengals were able to lock up wide receiver/returner Brandon Tate on a new one-year deal. Tate was solid last season in Cincinnati, amassing just shy of 1,000 return yards.
The Bengals also kept corner Adam “Pac Man” Jones on a three-year deal.
