NFL free agent tracker: Giants re-sign Kevin Boothe

New York made a move to re-sign one of its better players in 2012.

The New York Giants have agreed with free agent left guard Kevin Boothe on a one-year deal, bringing the lineman back into the fold, according to Kim Jones. The amount of money involved is unknown.

Boothe was one of general manager Jerry Reese’s important free agents. Boothe is very versatile, able to play any position on the offensive line, although his natural position is guard.

Along with David Diehl and Chris Snee, New York has one of the better offensive lines in football protecting Eli Manning from oncoming traffic.

The hulking 6’5, 320 pounder is a mountain inside and truly excels in the running game. By keeping Boothe, the Giants have one less position they need to concern themselves with on draft day in April.

New York is likely to address the defensive side of the ball the rest of its offseason, perhaps picking up a few defensive linemen and a linebacker.
