Brian Urlacher rumors: Few teams reportedly interested in FA linebacker

The 34-year-old linebacker has fielded a few calls since turning down a $2 million deal with the Bears.

A "few teams" are interested in free agent linebacker Brian Urlacher, but nothing is imminent, according to ESPN's Ed Werder.

Werder tweeted that no visits have been arranged yet.

The Chicago Bears and Urlacher parted ways five days ago. Urlacher said the Bears' offer was an "ultimatum" and he wasn't happy with how the negotiations went down. He was offered a one-year, $2 million deal, but he turned it down.

Windy City Gridiron's Lester A. Wiltfong Jr. wrote the "entire situation is starting to smell like the Olin Kreutz saga, and we all remember how that worked out."

Urlacher left the Bears after spending 13 years with the team. He was the 9th overall pick in the 2000 NFL Draft by the Bears and played 182 games in Chicago. He recorded more than 1,300 total tackles, 41.5 sacks, 22 interceptions and two touchdowns while wearing a Bears uniform.

Urlacher, 34, played in just 12 games last season. He recorded 68 total tackles, an interception and a touchdown.
