Former Miami Dolphins and West Virgina quarterback Pat White will work out for the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday, according to Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area. White's only NFL stint came in 2009, when he appeared in 13 games for the Dolphins.

Could Pat White make a return to the NFL in San Francisco?
White’s chances of making the 49ers aren’t exactly favorable. However, David Fucillo of 49ers blog Niners Nation points out that San Francisco would have room on its training camp roster to give White a shot. He does have previous experience with the read-option, which is a likely reason for his comeback attempt.
West Virginia ran plenty of read-option while White was at the helm, and he did well in the system. He has speed, but his throwing ability in the NFL is still suspect. He attempted only five passes in 2009, and failed to complete one. He was used sparingly in the ground game, rushing 21 times for 81 yards.
