On Tuesday morning, six Auburn Tigers will put their talents on display in hopes of landing a job in the National Football League.
Auburn pro day: Corey Lemonier, Philip Lutzenkirchen participating
The Auburn Tigers had a rough year, but still have a few kids who may have productive NFL futures.
Defensive end Corey Lemonier and tight end Philip Lutzenkirchen are the headliners and expected to be drafted, along with running back Onterio McCalebb. All were invited to the combine.
Three other Tigers are expected to participate including wide receiver Emory Blake, guard John Sullen and safety Daren Bates.
Pro days are often the best chance for players to show their skills for a variety of reasons, including being surrounded by a familiar coaching staff and environment. Plus, it never hurts to have a friendly face manning the stopwatch, shaving a couple tenths of a second.
Nobody from Auburn is expected to be a first-day pick, but everyone working out can improve their stock and subsequently help themselves make thousands of dollars with a good broad jump or an impressive showing in the 40.
Lemonier is thought to be a mid-round pick in many corners, with the rest projected to be undrafted free agents, with the possible exception of Lutzenkirchen.
