The 2013 NFL Draft is fast approaching, and while there’s new info seemingly every other minute regarding prospects and their stock, teams within the NFL are still making moves in free agency. There’s still a lot of set-up to be done prior to draft day so teams can take full stock of what their actual needs are going forward.
NFL news roundup: Steelers undecided on Emmanuel Sanders; Rolando McClain signs
Plenty of news went down in the NFL on Friday, including the Pittsburgh Steelers reportedly being undecided on Emmanuel Sanders’ future, and the Baltimore Ravens making the signing of Rolando McClain official.
If there’s trades to be made, they’ll happen sooner rather than later, and many of the remaining free agents will get snatched up over the course of the next couple weeks. Let’s take a look at what went down in the NFL on Friday.
Baltimore inks McClain
Former Oakland Raiders linebacker Rolando McClain has officially signed with the Baltimore Ravens. The reigning Super Bowl champions will pay McClain a base salary of just $700,000, with an additional $400,000 in possible incentives. McClain is looking for a new opportunity, and since he's just 23 years old, it seems like a safe and smart investment for Baltimore.
Pittsburgh undecided on Sanders
The Pittsburgh Steelers haven't yet matched the offer sheet that the New England Patriots signed Emmanuel Sanders to earlier in the week. On Friday, it was reported that the Steelers are torn and haven't yet made a decision, and the term "50-50" was thrown around. The offer sheet is worth $2.5 million, which seems in line with Sanders' value.

Scott returns to Cincy
Running back Bernard Scott re-signed with the Cincinnati Bengals on Friday, though details of the contract are unavailable at this point. It's likely that Scott signed for the veteran's minimum, as he's returning from a debilitating injury. He'll compete for the backup spot behind BenJarvus Green-Ellis and could be a valuable asset if he can stay healthy.
Jones-Drew to stay put
Maurice Jones-Drew has long been the only bright spot on a Jacksonville Jaguars team, but often times, a top player will be traded to enable the team to begin rebuilding. Jaguars general manager Dave Caldwell made it clear that Jones-Drew will not be traded, however. If he can recover from his injuries last season, he should be his usual productive self.

Tebow time should be up in New York, says Garcia
Former NFL quarterback Jeff Garcia thinks that the New York Jets should release Tim Tebow prior to the team's offseason workouts beginning on April 15. On Friday, Garcia said that Tebow won't really compete for the starting quarterback job and that the Jets should cut him before he becomes (more) of a distraction.
