NFL news roundup: Rolando McClain receives offers, Bengals work out Felix Jones

A pair of former first round draft picks drew interest from NFL teams on the free agent market on Monday. Read about Rolando McClain, Felix Jones and more.

The 2013 NFL Draft is right around the corner, but that doesn't mean there isn't plenty happening on the free agent market. On Monday evening, a pair of former first round draft picks in Rolando McClain and Felix Jones made headlines.

Here’s a look at the NFL news and rumors you may have missed last night.

Rolando McClain already has contract offers

The former Oakland Raiders linebacker and top 10 pick cleared waivers Monday, and quickly drew three offers from NFL suitors. Two more teams are also reportedly in pursuit. McClain was prolific in Oakland, racking up 244 tackles, 6.5 sacks and an interception

Felix Jones works out with Bengals

The Bengals need a third-down running back and they could do a lot worse than Felix Jones. He's just 25 years old, should come cheap and is explosive. The only concern is his health, which has been a problem for him since he entered the league, but with BenJarvus Green-Ellis already in the fold, the Bengals have the luxury of being able to take a chance on Jones.

Jets demanding 2013 first round pick from Bucs for Darrelle Revis

The Buccaneers want Darrelle Revis, but how badly do they want him? According to reports, the Jets will only trade the cornerback to Tampa Bay if they get a 2013 first round pick in return and the Bucs are unsure if they're willing to give that up. Tampa wants to complete any Revis deal before the draft so they can have their medical staff look at Revis, but if they're not willing to give up their first rounder, there may be no physical for Revis to undergo.

JaMarcus Russell cancels pro day workout

The former No. 1 overall pick is trying to make a NFL comeback after flaming out in Oakland and having some off-field issues, but he won’t make try to impress teams at his personal pro day anymore. He cancelled that event and will now work out for teams individually, where he will try to make enough of an impression that he gets another crack at the NFL.

Right tackles struggling to earn big contracts

Andre Smith is 26 years old and one of the best players at his position, so why can’t he get a big money contract? His position is right tackle. The free agent market has not been kind to right tackles, many of whom are still unsigned as they wait for a lucrative contract that doesn’t look likely to come anytime soon.

Tommy Kelly signs with New England

The Raiders' defensive line exodus continued on Monday when Tommy Kelly agreed to a deal with the Patriots. Kelly spent the first nine years of his career in Oakland and everyone assumed he would leave this offseason -- now he has. Kelly can play both tackle and end so he'll be a nice addition to the Patriots' defensive front.

Reports that Gronkowski will need another surgery “way off”

News broke on Sunday night that Rob Gronkowski would have to undergo yet another surgery on his infected left forearm, but on Monday his agent said that the reports were "way off." Gronkowski has already had two surgeries on his forearm and he has to undergo a third to removed the plate in his forearm, but if it is infected then he will need a fourth.

Top tight ends already signed to contracts

If your team is still looking to free agency for a top-notch tight end, they are going to be disappointed. The top tight ends on the market have already been snapped up, but there are some nice backup options still available. Dennis Pitta in particular could be appealing to a team, but he is only a restricted free agent.
