Arizona Cardinals Pro Bowl linebacker Daryl Washington is currently under investigation by Phoenix police for an alleged domestic dispute on Wednesday evening. Police responded to a call from a female who said she was the victim of domestic violence and that the other person involved was Washington, though he had already left the scene by the time police had arrived.
Daryl Washington has yet to talk with Phoenix police following alleged domestic dispute
Phoenix police are in the early stages of the investigation and have released a statement.
“On May 1, 2013, just after 4 p.m., Phoenix police officers responded to the area of 4800 East Warner. The caller was an adult female who indicated she was a victim of a domestic violence assault. When officers arrived they spoke with the female who has alleged the individual involved in this altercation is Daryl Washington. Officers were unable to speak with both parties as he had left the scene prior to police arriving. This investigation is in the early stages and our detectives are working on this case this morning.”
Washington is already set to serve a four-game suspension to open the 2013 season for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. This altercation could further endanger his status and availability for next season; however, it is clearly still too early to know exactly what will come of this investigation.
First Washington and the Phoenix police are going to have to talk about what happened, and there isn’t any indication that has happened yet.
