Patriots TE Aaron Hernandez has ties to homicide victim, according to report

New reports directly link New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez to homicide victim Odin Lloyd.

New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez had ties to homicide victim Odin Lloyd, according to MyFoxBoston.com. The report, also from Ted Daniel of FOX 25, asserts that Hernandez was the driver of a vehicle that also contained Lloyd and two others prior to Lloyd's death.

Further tweets from Daniel report that Lloyd sent a text to a friend that “included a reference to Hernandez,” and that the vehicle returned to Hernandez’s home that night with three people, none of which were Lloyd. Police confirmed the identity of the victim on Wednesday night and that after an autopsy the death is being ruled a homicide.

It’s still unclear at this point if Hernandez is being investigated as an official suspect, but another tweet from Daniel suggests that forensic evidence tied the vehicle driven by Hernandez to the “crime scene,” the location of which was unspecified in the report.

A search warrant was executed on Hernandez’s home Tuesday night and police returned for more searching on Wednesday, according to the report. Police continue to investigate the area overall, with state troopers searching both sides of the road off the street where Hernandez lives on Wednesday. They also searched the industrial park where the body was found.
