Tennessee Titans running back Shonn Greene is doubtful to play on Sunday against the Houston Texans, according to the NFL.com's Ian Rappaport.
Shonn Greene injury: Titans RB doubtful vs. Texans
Chris Johnson may once again be the lone featured back on Sunday against the Houston Texans.
Greene suffered a knee injury in the second quarter during the Week 1 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers and did not return to the game. Coach Mike Munchak later stated after the game the injury was not considered serious and that the veteran running back was not expected to miss any time. Greene did not participate in practice this week and was listed as questionable on the team's official injury report.
The fifth-year running back signed a three-year contract with the Titans this offseason to create a dangerous two-pronged running attack along with Chris Johnson. Greene finished with over 1,000 yards rushing in each of the past two seasons with the New York Jets, and finished with 18 yards on four carries before being injured against the Steelers.
Johnson finished with 70 yards rushing on 25 carries and now takes on another tough defense in Houston. Jackie Battle is expected to back up Johnson on Sunday.
