The Vikings and Steelers traveled to London for the first of two international games for the NFL this season. The trip was fruitful for the Vikings who unloaded an offensive onslaught on the Steelers that featured veteran playmakers like wide receiver Greg Jennings and running back Adrian Peterson. The Steelers were unable to stop backup quarterback Matt Cassel from getting the ball to his wide receivers as he completed 16 of 25 passes for 248 yards and two touchdowns.

The Steelers were able to move the ball well on Minnesota, but a fumble and an interception by Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger made a big difference. The Vikings were plus-two in the turnover ratio and took advantage of the extra possessions. Jennings had two touchdown catches and fellow wideout Jerome Simpson collected 124 receiving yards. The Steelers are now 0-4, while the Vikings return to the United States at 1-3.
Ted Glover of The Daily Norseman is giving some praise to Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder's replacement:
Matt Cassel looked and played like a By God NFL quarterback today. Yes, he started off slow, and was under 50% completion percentage in the first half, but he just looked and felt like the real deal today. From running the offense, to making decisions in the pocket, to getting rid of the ball, Cassel completely out performed my expectations of him. And I loved it. Is Matt Cassel the long term answer? No, he’s not. Right now, do I care? No, I don’t.
Nigel Coolong of Behind the Steel Curtain believes a lot of the Steelers’ offensive woes can be traced to Pittsburgh left tackle Mike Adams:
Each time it seems like Adams has hit rock bottom, he goes out and allows three sacks in the first half. It isn't even so much the clear and obvious fact he cannot compete at the left tackle position, his stunned approach after whiffing on Jared Allen led him to stand behind Roethlisberger in the pocket, and had the best seat in the house to see Allen notch his third sack.
The Vikings and Steelers will both be on byes in Week 5.
