NFL odds and lines 2013, Week 1: Bengals vs. Bears
Cincinnati and Chicago get the season rolling with a matchup of contenders.
Chicago is favored by three points going into the game, according to Oddsshark.com.
For the first time since the days of Boomer Esiason, Sam Wyche and the Ickey Shuffle, the Bengals are favored to win the AFC North by a bevy of experts. With the Baltimore Ravens having lost a ton of talent and the Pittsburgh Steelers aging, Cincinnati is primed to make the playoffs for the third consecutive year.
The Bears are also a team expected to push for the playoffs under new head coach Marc Trestman. Trestman, who made his name in the NFL as an offensive guru with the San Francisco 49ers, will try to bring a potent attack to match the tough defense. Even without Brian Urlacher, the defense will be solid with Julius Peppers, Lance Briggs and Charles Tillman leading the way.
