The return of Darrelle Revis to the Meadowlands is going to be one to remember if the spread for Sunday's game is any indication. While the Jets will serve as hosts to the Buccaneers, Tampa Bay is favored by more than a field goal against the home team according to OddsShark. The 3.5-point favorite Buccaneers will look to feast on rookie quarterback Geno Smith's NFL debut by showing off their newly-rebuilt secondary.
NFL odds 2013, Week 1: Buccaneers vs. Jets
According to the odds, Darrelle Revis and the Bucs should be successful in the cornerback’s return to Meadowlands.

This inter-conference game features two teams that seem to be headed in different directions, with the Bucs on the way up and the Jets just hoping to sniff the playoffs. Tampa Bay has a nice mix on offense with Doug Martin serving as a stud on the ground, while Mike Williams and Vincent Jackson are featured in the passing game. The defense has been improved by the arrival of Revis, Johnthan Banks and Dashon Goldson this offseason, and could serve as a serious Week 1 challenge for Smith and his wide receiver unit.
The Jets will hope to control the clock with their running back rotation. Bilal Powell and Chris Ivory will be used to take pressure off Smith and open up the passing game. The New York defense will need to fluster Josh Freeman with a pass rush from Sheldon Richardson and Quintin Coples and get the ball out of his turnover-prone hands. While the spread is close, this one could get out of hand if the Jets' defense fails to stop Martin early in the game.
