Percy Harvin injury: Seahawks WR will miss NFC Championship Game vs. 49ers

Seattle will once again be without Harvin.

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Percy Harvin has been ruled out for the NFC Championship Game on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers due to the concussion he suffered in last week's game.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said on Friday that Harvin will not make it through the doctor’s protocol and won’t be able to play, according to Jeff Darlington of NFL Network. Carroll wasn’t entirely negative, though. He put an optimistic spin on the outcome of Sunday’s game by telling reporters that he will be excited to have Harvin back at practice next week.

Harvin missed most of the season with a hip injury and only appeared in one game all season. He returned for Seattle's game against the New Orleans Saints, but suffered a concussion. He caught three passes for 21 yards against the Saints and rushed one time for 9 yards before exiting with a head injury. The Seahawks have fared just fine in his absence, but he would certainly be a welcome addition to the offense.
