The Seattle Seahawks will be wearing their road uniforms in Super Bowl XLVIIII on Feb. 2 at MetLife Stadium in New York, featuring white tops and blue pants, according to the team’s official website.
Super Bowl XLVIII uniforms: Seahawks to wear white jersey, blue pants
Seattle will be in its road whites for one of the biggest games in franchise history.
The Denver Broncos are considered the home team in the game, and decided on Monday to wear their orange uniforms in the contest, which forces the Seahawks to choose white. The good news for Seattle is that the Broncos have never won a Super Bowl wearing orange, standing with an 0-2 mark. The Broncos' first Super Bowl win was in their then-revolutionary blue uniforms in 1997
Seattle has only been to the Super Bowl once before, Super Bowl XL against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and wore its blue uniforms. The Seahawks lost that game, so perhaps this will bring a change of luck.
In Week 15, Seattle wore its traditional road whites against the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium and won 23-0, so the team is hoping for a repeat performance against the other Manning brother.
