More on the matchup: The all-time series between these teams is tied, but the 49ers have a firm grip of recent games -- winning five of the last seven meetings between the division rivals. They last met in early December when Phil Dawson kicked four field goals to set up a 49ers win, 19-17. These teams have the best remaining defensive units in the playoffs, and will need to keep emotions in check to ensure neither side is goaded into unnecessary penalties.
