NaVorro Bowman injures knee, holds onto the ball & still doesn’t get the turnover

The All-Pro linebacker sustained a significant knee injury during Sunday’s game.

San Francisco 49ers linebacker NaVorro Bowman left Sunday's NFC Championship game against the Seattle Seahawks with an apparent knee injury. Bowman was in the process of forcing a fumble on a pivotal third-down play, but he came down awkwardly on his leg, which bent in ways it was not supposed to.

Bowman was down on the field for a significant portion of time before the 49ers brought out the cart to take him to the sideline and the locker room.

We have a gif below, if you can handle it:

This season, Bowman was named a first-team All-Pro and has eclipsed the play of fellow inside linebacker Patrick Willis. Bowman finished the regular season with 145 tackles, five sacks and two interceptions along with nine passes defended.

The 49ers currently trail the Seahawks, 20-17, in the fourth quarter. San Francisco looked to have recovered the football but the referees deemed the play not reviewable, so the Seahawks got another shot at it. They went for it on fourth down, trying to put the game away, but fumbled again and the ball was recovered by San Francisco with about eight minutes to go in regulation.
