Man shot after Cowboys game vs. Patriots has died

A fight following a game between the Dallas Cowboys and New England Patriots ended with one man dead a gunshot wound to the head.

A fight outside AT&T Stadium ended with a man shot in the head and another taken into police custody, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

A dispute in the parking lot of the stadium following a game between the New England Patriots and Dallas Cowboys devolved into a brawl involving several people, according to eyewitnesses. One man said that the shooter pointed a gun at the head of more than one person involved in the fight before eventually pulling the trigger.

The victim of the shooting had life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital in serious condition. He later died from his injuries, according to the Associated Press.

The suspect, who was also taken to a hospital after he tripped over a retaining wall, was reportedly pressured by bystanders to kill the victim.

The fight in the parking lot occurred shortly after 8 p.m., following the end of the Cowboys’ 30-6 loss. By 8:30 p.m. police responded to a report of a fight and officers were able to hear the gunshot.

The suspect is now in jail and has been charged with murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Fights aren't rare at NFL stadiums, although few end with gunfire. Just last month, video showed an altercation between a Minnesota Vikings fan and multiple San Francisco 49ers fans just outside of Levi's Stadium.
