Peyton Manning ties Brett Favre for most career wins record

Manning earned the 186th win of his career on Sunday, tying Brett Favre for the most of all-time.

Peyton Manning is picking off Brett Favre's records one at a time and with a win over the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, the Denver Broncos quarterback tied Favre as the winningest starting quarterback of all-time.

The 29-10 win over the Packers was No. 186 in Manning’s career, improving his career record to 186-77. It took Favre much longer to reach his win total, retiring with a 186-112 record.

Manning, 39, finished two of his first four seasons with fewer than 10 wins, but hasn't had a record worse than 10-6 since the 2001 season. Of his 186 wins, 141 came during his time with the Indianapolis Colts, but his 45-10 record with the Denver Broncos is the best for any quarterback since the beginning of the 2012 season.

Player Years Team(s) Record
Brett Favre 1991-2010 Falcons, Packers, Jets, Vikings 186-112
Peyton Manning 1998-present Colts, Broncos 186-77
Tom Brady 2000-present Patriots 167-47
John Elway 1983-1998 Broncos 148-82-1
Dan Marino 1983-1999 Dolphins 147-93

Despite the 7-0 record for Manning, the season has been one of the worst of his career. The 14-time Pro Bowler has been especially turnover-prone, but a win over the Green Bay Packers is the most impressive of the season for the Broncos.

Behind Favre and Manning on the all-time wins list is Tom Brady, who has 19 fewer wins, but 30 fewer losses than Manning and 65 fewer losses than Favre. Brady is playing as well as he’s ever played in his career and the Patriots are also 7-0.

Manning will have the chance to pass Favre and be the sole owner of the record in Week 9 when the Broncos travel to Indianapolis to face his former team, the Colts, who picked him with the No. 1 selection in the 1998 NFL Draft.
