New England Patriots tight end Scott Chandler is expected to be active for the team's Sunday Night Football matchup against the Houston Texans, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Scott Chandler expected to play against Texans Sunday night
Chandler appears ready to go despite a week of limited practice.

Chandler was limited in practice all week and listed as questionable with a knee issue on the injury report. It’s unclear when he picked up the injury, but it apparently wasn’t serious enough for him to miss any game action.
Chandler has become the top tight end target when Rob Gronkowski suffered a knee injury in the Week 12 loss to the Denver Broncos. He has four touchdowns on the season, with two of those coming in the past two weeks. Chandler had four catches for 61 yards in last week's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, his highest yardage total of the season.
In addition to Chandler, it appears as if the Patriots will have Gronkowski back in the lineup Sunday as well. The Boston Globe reports Gronkowski is expected to play just two weeks after injuring his knee against the Broncos when safety Darian Stewart hit him low.
Last week, in an uncharacteristic move, the Patriots and Gronkowski issued a joint statement saying the star tight end’s status would be evaluated on a week-to-week basis. But Gronkowski returned to practice Thursday and Friday and will apparently be ready to help the Patriots try to snap their two-game losing streak Sunday night. Gronkowski leads the Patriots with 931 receiving yards and is second on the team with 57 receptions.
