The New England Patriots ended a two-game losing streak with an easy 27-6 win over the Houston Texans on Sunday Night Football, and coupled with losses earlier Sunday by both the Cincinnati Bengals and Denver Broncos, New England (11-2) regained the top seed in the AFC.
Follow all the Week 14 action from Sunday
A key postseason matchup was already decided on Thursday, but with 14 games on Sunday, the field in the playoff race is primed for plenty of shuffling in Week 14.
Similarly, the Dallas Cowboys desperately needed to find wins to stay in the tight NFC East race, but beating the Green Bay Packers was a tall task, and they proved they weren’t up to it when Green Bay got the win.

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY SportsIt took Tomlin just 141 games to reach 90 wins, while Cowher managed it in 149 games and Noll in 193. Of course, Noll inherited a much worse team and had a lot more work to do.
The Steelers also made NFL history on Sunday. Pittsburgh is the first franchise in NFL history to have three different head coaches reach at least 90 career regular season wins. As Tomlin wins more games, the Steelers will continue to set the record higher, as Cowher won 149 games and Noll won 193 of them.

David Kohl-USA TODAY SportsPart of the reason the Bengals were able to jump out to a 10-2 start to the 2015 season was a remarkably injury-free season for the majority of the year. Entering Week 14, only three players were on the Cincinnati injured reserve. It’s too early to know if the injury suffered by Dalton will force the Bengals to add him to the list, but things don’t look good after he was quickly ruled out for the remainder of the game before returning to the field with a cast over his throwing hand.
If Dalton isn’t able to go for an extended period of time, it will be AJ McCarron taking over the reins of one of the NFL’s highest-scoring offenses. But against the No. 22 defense in the NFL, McCarron couldn’t find the end zone often enough, although he didn’t waste much time throwing his first NFL touchdown.

This is one of the weirdest plays you’ll see Sunday. Matt Jones made a great heads-up play to come down with the football in a tipped ball situation. Unfortunately he forgot how the NFL works and dropped the ball on the ground despite nobody touching him.
Jones can be forgiven a little bit. He’s a rookie and to be fair he’d be down in college. This had the chance to be a turnover -- but the Bears found a way to give it back. It was nice of Chicago to give him a mulligan.

Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY SportsThe workout Ware went through prior to Week 13 through simulated about 30 game snaps, and included edge-rush moves and dropping into coverage.
In seven games this season, Ware has 14 tackles, six assists and 6.5 sacks. He returns to a defense that has been dominant all season. The Broncos have allowed the fewest offensive yards per game of any team this season with 284.7, and they lead the league in sacks with 41. The Broncos are 10-2 and lead the AFC West, and the defense has been fundamentally important to Denver’s success this season.

Logan Bowles-USA TODAY SportsIndianapolis is 6-6 on the season and tied for first place in the AFC South. But at the time of Hasselbeck’s injury, time was running out and they were well behind the Jaguars on the scoreboard.

Cam Newton is not of this planet.
There is entirely too much going on between Cam Newton and where this pass ends up for the normal laws of physics to apply. I’m not sure how he does this, but Cam is clearly not subjected to the same laws of motion as the rest of us.

AJ McCarron is trying to make the most of his time on the field for the Bengals today.
Bengals starter Andy Dalton was lost for the game after an early injury to his thumb, but McCarron appears to be finding his rhythm. Here he hit A.J. Green in stride on the sideline, and then Green embarrassed a couple Steelers defenders before waltzing in to the end zone.

Kim Klement-USA TODAY SportsUnfortunately, it’s an injury to the same knee that has been problematic for Jackson this season. Injuries have limited him to nine games this year. He caught just one pass for 5 yards before exiting the game in the second quarter.
Murphy should get an uptick in snaps with Jackson out. Jackson is playing in his 11th season in the NFL.

Johnny Manziel is out here signing money because he’s “Money Manziel.” The name he used to sign it? Well, “Money Manziel” naturally. This is a risky value proposition by the Browns fan. Will a signed Manziel $100 bill ever be worth $100? Well, that all depends on whether it can be circulated — because Manziel autographs can be had as cheap as $40 on eBay.
If it can’t be circulated then at best the fan wasted $100. At worst Manziel committed a federal crime.

James Harrison doesn’t like a lot of people, and Vontaze Burfict isn’t liked by most of the Steelers, especially Vince Williams. Harrison was actually playing mediator when the two teams got into a scuffle before Sunday’s game, preventing Burfict and Williams from throwing any punches.
The Steelers and Bengals are facing off for the first time since Burfict injured Steelers RB Le’Veon Bell, and, in the eyes of some Pittsburgh players, appeared to celebrate after doing so. Williams posted a series of threatening tweets to Burfict following the first game between the two, which is why Burfict went after Williams in pregame warmups, according to ESPN. Harrison and Adam Jones were among those trying to separate the two teams before things escalted.

Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY SportsChandler was limited in practice all week and listed as questionable with a knee issue on the injury report. It’s unclear when he picked up the injury, but it apparently wasn’t serious enough for him to miss any game action.
Last week, in an uncharacteristic move, the Patriots and Gronkowski issued a joint statement saying the star tight end’s status would be evaluated on a week-to-week basis. But Gronkowski returned to practice Thursday and Friday and will apparently be ready to help the Patriots try to snap their two-game losing streak Sunday night. Gronkowski leads the Patriots with 931 receiving yards and is second on the team with 57 receptions.
