Denver Broncos outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware is set to make his return to the field Sunday against the Oakland Raiders after being sidelined with a back injury since Week 9. Ware did return to practice last week, and he was able to participate in a workout prior to the Broncos' Week 13 matchup with the San Diego Chargers that simulated a game situation, but was ruled out for the Chargers game.
DeMarcus Ware returns for Broncos after 4-game absence
Outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware, who has been sidelined since Nov. 8 with a back injury, will return to the field for the Denver Broncos in Week 14.

The workout Ware went through prior to Week 13 through simulated about 30 game snaps, and included edge-rush moves and dropping into coverage.
In seven games this season, Ware has 14 tackles, six assists and 6.5 sacks. He returns to a defense that has been dominant all season. The Broncos have allowed the fewest offensive yards per game of any team this season with 284.7, and they lead the league in sacks with 41. The Broncos are 10-2 and lead the AFC West, and the defense has been fundamentally important to Denver’s success this season.
In 2014, Ware had 10 sacks, a pass deflection and an interception.
Ware said Wednesday he was confident he would be ready to play on Sunday, though he’ll likely be eased back into action, via NFL Network’s James Palmer.
