Neither the Jacksonville Jaguars nor the Miami Dolphins looked particularly impressive in Week 1, but for one team it didn't matter and there was a mark in the win column regardless.
Dolphins vs. Jaguars 2015 live stream: Game time, TV schedule and how to watch online
The Jaguars and Dolphins could be the pillow fight of the week if the offenses don’t show improvement.
The Dolphins overcame just 256 yards of total offense compared to 349 gained by Washington to earn a 17-10 victory. Were it not for two interceptions thrown by Kirk Cousins or a 69-yard, go-ahead punt return touchdown from Jarvis Landry in the fourth quarter, Miami's offensive struggles could have proven costly.
For the Jaguars, offensive struggles did prove costly. While the Jacksonville defense held the Carolina Panthers' offense in check, the Jaguars managed just 265 yards of offense and swung the game in the wrong direction. Blake Bortles threw an interception to Josh Norman that was returned for a touchdown, giving the Panthers an eight-point lead in the second half.
If the Miami and Jacksonville offenses play the same way against a pair of defenses that have proven capable of holding teams in check, the Florida-on-Florida matchup could be the NFL’s pillow fight of the week.
The Jaguars' defense is led by a pass rush that accumulated 45 sacks in 2014, and while the team lost Dante Fowler for the year and is still without Sen'Derrick Marks and Andre Branch, players like Chris Clemons and Dan Skuta still managed to get to Cam Newton in Week 1.
Miami wasn't quite as successful at rushing the passer in 2014, finishing near the league average with 39 sacks, but may have made up that gap by adding Ndamukong Suh to the mix on a unit that already featured four-time Pro Bowler Cameron Wake.
Keeping pressure off Bortles and Ryan Tannehill will be key for both teams looking to bounce back from less-than-stellar offensive showings in Week 1.
The NFL doesn’t currently offer a live streaming service for fans in the United States or Mexico. Live radio broadcasts are available through NFL Game Pass, but on-demand replays of the games aren’t available until later.
