After an offseason featuring plenty of headlines revolving around the quarterback position for both teams, the St. Louis Rams escaped Week 1 with an overtime victory while Washington dropped its opener to the Miami Dolphins.

Nick Foles had much more success in his Week 1 debut with the Rams than Kirk Cousins did in his first game after being named Washington’s starter.
In his first game with the Rams, Nick Foles completed 18 of 27 passes against the always strong Seattle Seahawks' defense -- albeit one without Kam Chancellor -- for 297 yards and one touchdown. His only touchdown of the day came in the final minute of regulation when he hit Lance Kendricks for a 37-yard score that sent the game into overtime, where St. Louis eventually won.
Things didn't go as smoothly for the Washington offense, which managed just 10 points against the Dolphins. Kirk Cousins led the offense to a 10-0 lead with a 3-yard touchdown pass to Jordan Reed, but tossed two interceptions, negating a strong performance from Alfred Morris. The two-time Pro Bowl running back rumbled to 121 yards rushing against Miami on 25 carries, but couldn't find the end zone.
Of course, it’s still early in the tenures of Foles and Cousins as starters, but the former certainly inspired more confidence in Week 1.
The Washington defense managed to slow down the hype of the Dolphins’ offense, though, and will look to derail the momentum gained by the Rams. Ryan Tannehill and the Dolphins managed just 256 yards of offense in the opener and were saved by a 69-yard punt return touchdown that gave Miami a 17-10 lead in the fourth quarter that remained for the rest of the game.
To get a win, the Washington offensive line will have to avoid getting dominated by one of the most dangerous defensive lines in the NFL. Robert Quinn and Aaron Donald each recorded two sacks against the Seahawks, and Chris Long and Michael Brockers are no slouches either.
The NFL doesn’t currently offer a live streaming service for fans in the United States or Mexico. Live radio broadcasts are available through NFL Game Pass, but on-demand replays of the games aren’t available until later.
