“Time will tell,” Bowles said. “I’m hopeful, but it’s not out of the realm he won’t play either.”

Decker had a big game against a decimated Colts secondary, catching eight passes for 97 yards and a touchdown all in the first half when he was fully healthy. The Jets won the Week 2 matchup, 20-7.

Luck’s turnover problem is catching up to Colts

There’s also the small matter of the Colts coughing the ball up eight times in two games.

“My play, turning the ball over, fumbles, interceptions, it’s a pretty glaring issue,” Andrew Luck said after the game when asked why the Colts are 0-2. “You don’t want to take anything away from what the Jets did on defense, but we continually shoot ourselves in the foot with penalties and turnovers. If we don’t clean those up, it’s hard to win.”

Colts’ offense melts down in 20-7 loss

The Indianapolis Colts were shocked at home on Monday Night Football, 20-7, by the New York Jets. What was purportedly one of the best offenses in the league heading into the season melted down before our eyes. Andrew Luck had four turnovers in what was one of the worst nights of his otherwise promising career.

The Colts never got started in the first half. They gained just 107 total yards of offense while going 0-for-6 on third downs. Luck was just 5-of-14 passing. He had little time, and receivers were rarely open when he did. The only thing that worked was Frank Gore, who rushed for 41 yards on seven first-half carries.

Gen. Luck reflects on the disastrous 0-2 start

    Dearest Abigail,

I was most pleased to receive your latest dispatch. It saddens me that the cholera has claimed uncle Ezekiel. What he thought he would find in the Nebraska territories beyond his own mortality escapes me. Perhaps the lure of a sod house offered its own reward. I should say that at this moment in our current campaign, a shanty on the Platte would be most preferable.

Vontae Davis out vs. Jets with concussion

Indianapolis Colts cornerback Vontae Davis has been ruled out for the rest of Monday night’s game against the New York Jets after suffering a concussion. He took a hard hit while making a tackle on a screen late in the second quarter.

The Colts have suffered massive losses on defense. The team had already been without Greg Toler, Darius Butler and rookie D’Joun Smith heading into Monday’s game. The loss of Davis for any amount of time would be the biggest blow, however. He was a Pro Bowler last season, and had been doing a good job blanketing Brandon Marshall.

Jon Gruden is a pretty intense guy. Don’t believe me?

Here we see Gruden in his natural habitat, screaming at someone. He’s just explaining how hard counts work and for some reason he can’t do that without JUMPING AT MIKE TIRICO.

    Experts favor Colts over Jets

Indianapolis surely won’t take this all lying down, of course. Luck completed 26 of 49 passes for 243 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions in Week 1, but he’s a strong candidate to rebound in this game. You can expect more out of the running game this time around, and you can expect Luck to clean up those bad, bad interceptions.

Over at CBS Sports, they certainly expect the Colts to rebound, with all eight experts picking Indianapolis straight up. At ESPN, the Jets had a little love, with nine of the 13 experts picking the Colts, leaving four picking New York.

Colts look to avoid 0-2 start, host Jets on MNF

Andrew Luck has faced the Jets just once in his career and it’s a game he probably would like to forget. The Colts were blown out at the Meadowlands in Week 6 of 2012, losing 35-9 to a Jets team that would finish with double-digit losses that year. Luck completed just 50 percent of his passes and was picked off twice in one of his worst performances. Granted, he was a rookie with just four games under his belt, but his passer rating of 51.3 was the third-worst he’s ever posted in a game.

Should panic really set in if the Colts somehow are unable to deliver a win in their home opener on Monday night? Under the current playoff format (since 1990) only 12 percent of teams that lose their first two games of the season end up in the playoffs. And the trends have been even worse recently: since 2009, 45 teams have started 0-2 and just two of them have gone on to play in the postseason.
