NFL playoff bracket 2016 update: Seahawks beat Vikings, will play Panthers next

The Vikings missed a game-winning field goal and are out of the playoffs.

SB Nation 2016 NFL Playoff Guide

The Seattle Seahawks came from behind to beat the Minnesota Vikings in the Wild Card round of the NFL playoffs on Sunday. The Vikings took a 9-0 lead into the fourth quarter, but the Seahawks battled back for a 10-9 win and punched their ticket into the next round. The Vikings had one last shot to win, but kicker Blair Walsh missed a 27-yard field goal attempt at the end of the game.

As the lowest seed in the NFC, the Seahawks will have to travel to play the Carolina Panthers, the team that finished the regular season with the best record in the NFL at 15-1. Carolina is the top seed and will be refreshed and ready after a week off. Last year, the Seahawks beat the Panthers in the playoffs, but earlier this season, the Panthers won in Seattle, 27-23.

The Green Bay Packers shook of an iffy first half for a big win over Washington in the second game of Sunday’s NFC doubleheader. Aaron Rodgers and Co. will move on to face the Arizona Cardinals in the divisional round next weekend.

Saturday's games already locked in the AFC Divisional round games. The Kansas City Chiefs dominated the Houston Texans on the road to put them up against the New England Patriots in the next round. That game is set for Saturday, Jan. 16. In the other matchup, the Pittsburgh Steelers barely managed to get by the Cincinnati Bengals in a thriller, and they will battle the top-seeded Denver Broncos on Sunday, Jan. 17.
