DeSean Jackson once again forgets to carry the ball into the end zone
Washington jumped out to a 5-0 lead against the Green Bay Packers. While that is a fine start, Washington should have a 9-0 lead had DeSean Jackson simply shifted the ball slightly on a near touchdown.
That was very close to a touchdown. In fact it was initially ruled a touchdown. After review, however, it was determined that because Jackson held the ball in his right hand, it never crossed inside the pylon and because his feet came down out of bounds the ball was out at the 1-yard line. It wouldn’t have taken much for him to bring the ball inside the pylon.
That would have been a relatively minor thing had Washington found the end zone on the ensuing plays. But, three failed plays later, Washington was forced to settle for the field goal. Jackson quickly realized his error.
That could easily end up being a play that has no impact on the outcome. But with as close as the playoff games have been this year, it could also become a deciding factor between Washington winning and losing.
This certainly isn’t the first time Jackson has had some issues carrying the ball across the goal line. At least he didn’t intentionally fumble just before scoring this time.
