The Tampa Bay Buccaneers dropped back two spots in the 2016 NFL Draft, trading away the No. 9 pick to the Chicago Bears in exchange for the No. 11 pick. The Bears gave up a fourth-round pick (the No. 106 overall selection) to move up into the top 10.
Buccaneers trade No. 9 pick to Bears
The Bears moved up two spots to secure Georgia linebacker Leonard Floyd.
Chicago moved up two spots to secure Georgia linebacker Leonard Floyd, who was projected to go to the New York Giants with the No. 10 pick in many mock drafts.
For the Buccaneers, it’s a move that makes sense after many of the top needs went off the board early in the draft order. By moving down two spots, Tampa Bay likely gets the player it hoped for at No. 9, but at a lesser price and with the addition of an early third-day pick.
I love this trade for the Buccaneers. They're likely getting the player they wanted at 11 and getting an extra pick.
