In Jamie Langenbrunner’s 1,000th career NHL game, he received a silver stick in a pregame ceremony from Stars general managre Joe Nieuwendyk and scored the game winning goal for the Stars in the second period. The Stars defeated the Kings 2-1 for the first victory against the Kings in Dallas since 2008.
Justin Williams got the scoring started for the Los Angeles Kings with the lone goal in the first period. The goal came off a serious of deflections and just happened to go in. The lone assist on the goal came from Anze Kopitar. The Kings even outshot the Stars 10-9 at the end of the first period.

Jamie Langenbrunner is having a great 1,000th career NHL game as he scored a goal at the 16:59 mark in the second period to give the Stars a 2-1 lead over the Kings. Langenbrunner’s goal came on the powerplay, the second straight powerplay goal for the Stars after missing on their first three chances. The goal was assisted by Brad Richards, who has his second assist of the night, and Jamie Benn.
The Stars have had the advantage in powerplays with five chances with the extra man compared to the Kings one. Those chances are the difference in the game thus far as the only two goals that the Stars have scored have come on the man advantage.

Loui Eriksson tied the game up for the Dallas Stars on the powerplay at the 11:32 mark of the second period. The goal was assisted by Brad Richards and Mike Ribeiro on another deflection goal. This goal extends Eriksson’s point streak to 10 games, the longest active streak currently in the league. The goal came off a Mark Greene roughing call eight seconds earlier.
The Stars are outshooting the Kings 17-16 and have had four powerplay chances compared the the Kings one. With the way that both goaltenders are playing at this point, the next goal could very well win this game.
