Kings Vs. Stars: Justin Williams Gets Early 1st Period Multi-Deflected Goal

The Los Angeles Kings have struck first with a goal in the first period that was shot by Justin Williams and deflected off a few Stars before it went in the net. The goal was assisted by Anze Kopitar. Both teams have had good chances early in this game with a few posts hit, the latest coming on a Stars powerplay.

Shots are currently 4-2 in the favor of the Kings but both teams have had good chances in their offensive zones and this game will not stay at this score with both teams creating quality chances. The Stars have had one powerplay with no shots on goals during the powerplay.

Jamie Langenbrunner was honored before the game for his 1,000th game played. He was presented with a plaque from the NHL and a silver stick from Stars General Manager Joe Nieuwendyk. Langenbrunner has had three shifts in the game thus far for a total of 2:25 of playing time.
