Max Pacioretty's unfortunate injury following a hit from Zdeno Chara overshadowed Tuesday night's game between the Boston Bruins and Montreal Canadiens, but what was lost in the fold was a dominating win for the home-standing Habs. Lars Eller scored two goals, including this beauty on a one-on-one chance with Tuukka Rask.
Bruins Vs. Canadiens: Max Pacioretty Injury Overshadows Big Habs Win
After the craziness of the last meeting between these two teams, in which they brawled their way to the finish at TD Garden, there was surely going to be some carryover. Bryan White and Johnny Boychuk went at it after Boychuk took a bit of a run at P.K. Subban just over three minutes into the game.
That seemed to get the rough stuff out of the system, and besides the nasty Pacioretty injury, the game was pretty quiet from that point on. Well, except the goal horn. The big two points boost Montreal to just one behind fifth place Tampa Bay, and it brings them within striking distance of the Bruins, who sit in second place in the East with 84 points.
It’s certainly much more interesting in the Northeast Division after Tuesday night.
