The Boston Bruins are still leading by two goals at the end of two periods as each teams scored one goal in the second period. Boston’s Rich Peverley put the Bruins up 3-0 at the 2:02 mark of the second period while Montreal’s Andrei Kostitsyn scored the first goal for the Canadiens of the game.
Canadiens Vs. Bruins, Game 3: Boston Still Leads By Two After Teams Exchange Goals In Second
Peverley scored early in the period as the Canadiens were coming off another powerplay. The only assist on the goal was recorded by Mark Recchi, Kostitsyn’s goal came five minutes later to give the Canadiens a breath of hope. The assists on that goal were from Mike Cammalleri and Roman Hamrlik.
The Canadiens outshot the Bruins 13-10 in the second period and are now outshooting the Bruins 21-19 overall in the game. Boston’s Tim Thomas has 20 saves on the night while Montreal’s Carey Price has 16 thus far.
The Bruins will most likely start to lock down their game and limit the Canadiens’ chances in the third period.
