It’s weird to think of a 50-plus goal scorer as part of your team’s “secondary scoring,” but that’s exactly what Steven Stamkos has turned into in this first-round playoff series between his Tampa Bay Lightning and the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Along with Simon Gagne, that secondary scoring of the Bolts has clearly kicked into gear in Game 5. Two goals from both Gagne and Stamkos have Tampa Bay rolling in a must-win game. Add one from Vincent Lecavalier and the Bolts have a gigantic, convincing 5-0 lead.
Brent Johnson is now in goal for Pittsburgh, but this game has been all about Tampa imposing their will -- not about the Pens goaltending.
We talked in the pre-game about comebacks, and they’ve certainly been abound in these 2011 NHL playoffs. But a 5-0 comeback in just 20 minutes? That seems extremely difficult, and for the Penguins, the final 20 minutes of this one is more about getting good momentum going for Game 6 back in Tampa Bay.
