Lightning Vs. Penguins, Game 5: Tampa Bay Uses Lopsided Score To Get Back In Series

The Tampa Bay Lightning are alive in the 2011 playoffs thanks to a gigantic 8-2 victory in a must-win Game 5 against the Pittsburgh Penguins, and there are obviously a ton of positives when you win a game by such a lopsided score.

Dwayne Roloson was fantastic yet again, the only difference being of course that he earned the victory this time around, unlike in Game 4 when he was brilliant in a tough overtime loss.

More importantly for Tampa, though, was the emergence of Steven Stamkos and Simon Gagne. Vincent Lecavalier and Martin St. Louis have carried the Bolts offensively so far in the series, but multiple goals for both Stamkos and Gagne indicate that they've popped up from their playoff-induced comas. If the Lightning want to win this series, they need those two scoring.

Pittsburgh finally got on the board in the third period, but it was obviously a little too late for them in Game 5. On the bright side, they definitely got back to their game a little bit and that should be an encouraging sign as they look ahead to Game 6 in Florida on Monday night.
