Canadiens Vs. Bruins Final Score: Nathan Horton Goal Gives Boston Win In Double Overtime

Talk about an epic game. The Boston Bruins and Montreal Canadiens fought an epic double overtime battle on Saturday night, and the Bruins emerged victorious, thanks to Nathan Horton's game winning goal, giving Boston the win by a score of 2-1. Montreal goalie Carey Price was brilliant all night, but there was nothing that he could do about Horton's winner, which was very well set up by the rest of his linemates.

Though Horton scored the winner, there's no question that the first star of the game should be Boston goalie Tim Thomas. His brilliant pad save on Brian Gionta just minutes earlier, denying Montreal a goal on a two-on-one scoring opportunity, was easily the biggest play of the game. His counterpart, price, had a number of great saves of his own, as the two squared off in a truly memorable goaltender duel. Both net minders had save percentages better than 96 percent on the night.

Boston now lead the series 3-2, and just as importantly, they notched the first home win of this series. They’ll have a serious advantage going into Tuesday’s Game 6 in Montreal, where they will have the opportunity to secure passage into the Eastern Conference semi-finals.
