In a pivotal Game 7, taking a one goal lead on the road is a good omen for moving on. That is what the Tampa Bay Lightning have done with a Sean Bergenheim goal early in the second period.
Lightning Vs. Penguins, Game 7: Sean Bergenheim Gives Tampa Bay 1-0 Lead After Second
Bergenheim received a beautiful backhand pass from behind the net from Dominic Moore which put goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury well out of position to give Bergenheim the relatively open net. The other assist on the goal came from Steve Downie.
The Penguins have been outshooting the Lighning in the game 22-18 while the Lightning outshot the Penguins 11-7 in the second period to close that gap. Tampa goaltender Dwayne Roloson has pitched the 22 save shutout while Fleury has the lone goal allowed on the 18 shots. The Penguins will have to dig out of this hole to tie the game and try and advance onto the Eastern Conference Semifinals against either the Philadelphia Flyers or the Washington Capitals.
