The Vancouver Canucks are back in the Western Conference finals for the first time in 17 years thanks to a 2-1 win over the Nashville Predators in Game 6 of a Western Conference semifinal series.

Daniel Sedin and Mason Raymond had first period goals while Roberto Luongo made 23 saves for the Presidents' Trophy winning Canucks, who last made it to the conference finals in 1994 when they defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs in five games to advance to their second Stanley Cup Finals.
As for the Predators, the best run in franchise history comes to an end. Preds blog On The Forecheck is disappointed but appreciates what the team accomplished this year:
And so, the ride that lasted 12 games longer than many pundits predicted is finally over. There will be quite a bit of time to evaluate what went wrong in this series, but for now, take time to consider what an amazing year it was. Undoubtedly the best year in team history, I'll have my head held high headed into the offseason.
And so, the Canucks move on and the Predators go back home to try against next year.
