David Krejci Injury: Bruins Forward Expects To Play Game 2 Vs. Capitals

David Krejci expects to play in Game 2 of the Boston Bruins' Eastern Conference Quarterfinal series against the Washington Capitals despite being struck in the head by a pane of glass, a mishap that forced him to miss practice Friday morning.

Boston’s top line center told the media after Friday morning’s practice that he “thinks he’ll play tomorrow” and that other than a sore neck, he feels like he’s in solid shape. Head coach Claude Julien called it a “freak accident,” adding that Krejci is “fine.”

That’s great news for the Bruins. Krejci is a vital piece of their offense, and without him the Capitals defense would have a much easier task when it comes to matching up with their opponent.

Krejci was injured Thursday night following the Bruins’ 1-0 overtime victory. During the post-game celebration, excited fans knocked a pane of glass onto the ice, where it struck Krejci in the back of the head. He fell but seemed OK as the team skated to the bench and into the locker room.
