Rangers Vs. Senators, NHL Playoffs 2012 Game 2: Erik Karlsson Ties Score On 5-Minute Power Play

Physical play again dominated the second period of Game 2 between the New York Rangers and Ottawa Senators. The teams have combined for 54 penalty minutes in the first 40 minutes of the game, and each team has had the luxury of a long five-minute power play as a result of a major penalty.

The Rangers weren't able to capitalize on their chance in the first period, but in desperate need of a goal in the second, the Senators cashed in when Erik Karlsson put the puck on goal.

Karlsson's had a rough go of things in Game 2 as the Rangers have looked to inflict physical harm on him all game long. They're clearly getting the youngster off his game a bit, but the admittedly fluky goal off the skate of defenseman Michael Del Zotto might do a bit to help his confidence.
