Dustin Penner injury: Ryan Garbutt invited to in-person hearing
Ryan Garbutt could face a suspension in excess of five-games for his hit on Anaheim Ducks forward Dustin Penner.

Garbutt connected on a hit of Anaheim Ducks forward Dustin Penner during the second period of Sunday night's game. Garbutt did not receive a penalty for the play, but the injury to Penner could play a factor in how the Department of Player Safety decides to rule. The decision to invite Garbutt to an in-person hearing means the league will have the option to administer a suspension in excess of five-games.
Garbutt has not been suspended over the span of 64 career NHL games.
