The San Jose Sharks outplayed the Boston Bruins for the overwhelming majority of their game on Thursday night and were less than a second away from earning at least a point in the standings for the 10th straight game to open the season.

David Krejci scored with less than a second to play to give the San Jose Sharks their first regulation loss of the season.
That was when David Krejci scored his second goal of the season to give the Bruins the win, and hand the Sharks their first regulation loss of the season just before the final horn sounded.
San Jose ended the night with a 39-17 advantage on the shot chart. They attempted 71 shots (goals, saves, misses, blocks) to Boston's 43. Sometimes in hockey the better team on a particular night simply does not win because of an outstanding goaltending performance. This was one of those games, and it was Tuukka Rask standing tall in net for the Bruins.
Along with a spectacular night from Rask, the Bruins also received a goal from Jarome Iginla, his first of the season. It originally looked like he scored on Wednesday night during Boston's 5-2 win in Buffalo but that goal was later awarded to Milan Lucic.
