Filip Forsberg scores first NHL goal

Former first-round draft pick Filip Forsberg scored his first NHL goal on Tuesday night.

One of the more surprising moves at last year's trade deadline was the one that involved the Washington Capitals sending Filip Forsberg, one of their top prospects and their 2012 first-round draft pick, to the Nashville Predators for Martin Erat.

The Predators are counting on Forsberg, 19, to be a big part of their future and help boost an offense that was near the bottom of the NHL last season.

On Tuesday night he managed to score his first NHL goal, cashing in on the power play to tie their game with the Minnesota Wild.

Meanwhile, in Washington, Erat has opened the season playing on the Capitals’ fourth line.
