The Predators lost, but at least they scored

It’s all about looking for the silver lining when you’re losing. Nice job, Predators.

The Nashville Predators lost their third straight game on Tuesday night, dropping a 3-1 decision to the New York Islanders.

It's been a particularly rough stretch for Nashville as its been outscored, 13-1, and actually surrendered 13 goals in a row to its opponents. That run of goals finally ended late in the third period when Patric Hornqvist scored his fifth of the season, snapping what had been a goal drought of more than 174 minutes.

As pointed out by this (since deleted) Predators official Twitter feed, that is progress!

And that’s when you know things are going poorly for your team.

With starting goaltender Pekka Rinne sidelined due to a hip injury the Predators have had an obvious hole in net, but it really doesn't matter who your goalie is if you're not scoring goals. And if you're leaving guys like John Tavares all alone in the slot.
