According to Bob McKenzie, disgraced Columbus Blue Jackets general manager Scott Howson has joined the Edmonton Oilers in a scouting role for at least the rest of the season. McKenzie reports that Howson will specifically be involved with the team's scouting of pro and college ranks.
Scott Howson joins Edmonton Oilers as scout, much to dismay of Oiler fans
Of course, Oilers fans are not pleased.
Of course, Howson won’t have any final word on running the team. It just looks like a sort of consultant role. However, the idea of the man who ran the Blue Jackets into the ground joining Edmonton has caused Oilers nation (which already has started to turn on current GM Steve Tambellini) to implode and hockey fans everywhere to break into mocking mode.
That loud crash you just heard was 29 GMs rushing to trade with the Oilers.

Tambo to Howson: No stupid, this is how you run a franchise into the ground.
