The Columbus Blue Jackets are up in arms about Mason Raymond's shootout winner on Tuesday. Raymond pulled a spin-o-rama move on the doorstep, snow showering and beating Sergei Bobrovsky with a nifty move.
Canucks vs. Blue Jackets: Mason Raymond’s controversial shootout winner wins it
The Blue Jackets wanted officials to review the play.
But was it legal?
Blue Jackets coach Todd Richards doesn’t think so:
#CBJ coach Todd Richards on Raymond's SO goal: "To me, it looks a little questionable, because it looks like he does take a step backward."

More Richards: "To me it looks like the puck is moving backward. (But) that’s not the only (shootout) goal that's been scored like that."

According to Rule 24.2, the puck has to be kept in motion toward an opponent’s goal line during a shootout attempt. However, that same rule later states that spin-o-rama moves (yes, the word spin-o-rama is in the NHL rulebook) are allowed.
