Devils vs. Flyers: Brayden Schenn leaves feet, charges Peter Harrold
Schenn made a dumb mistake at a bad time.

Dumb. Dangerous. Unnecessary.
That about sums up Brayden Schenn's hit on Peter Harrold late in a 1-1 game against the Devils on Friday. I've seen players leave their feet to make a hit before, but I've never seen someone literally pull a Superman leap at a player's head quite like this one from Schenn.
It was a textbook charging penalty and it put the Flyers down a man for the remaining two minutes of the game. Luckily Philadelphia (specifically, Ilya Bryzgalov) was up for the test and killed it off through the end of regulation and into overtime. The Flyers eventually won in a shootout.
I’ll take a wild guess and predict that Peter Laviolette will have some choice words for Schenn in the locker room after this penalty put his team in position to lose the game.
